Full of luxury and elegance. All Silversea ships have an enchanting aura about them and none more so than the Silver Muse. Accommodating 596 guest in nothing but ultra luxury. The Silver Muse continues to raise the bar on an already impressive fleet.
Arrival at the Mayflower Terminal was very quick and easy, the short-term car park is almost directly opposite the Departures lounge. After a glass of champagne on arrival, check in was quick and easy, I was given my room key and took a seat inside the terminal departures lounge and waited to board.
Upon boarding the Silver Muse we were directed to the reception to quickly have a photo taken for security purposes before a Silversea butler showed me to my suite on Deck 8.
My Veranda Suite on Deck 8, Portside, exceeded expectations. The suite had all of the luxury amenities you would expect from a 5* hotel, and the size was more than adequate. The bathroom has a generous sized shower, a bath, toilet and a sink area. The bedroom suite itself has a queen bed as well as a sitting area, complete with 2 TV’s in the mirrors, and a mini-bar. The Veranda is a reasonable size for a suite on-board a cruise ship, there’s space to sit out there and has a small table also.
Silver Suite on Deck 11 is a spectacular suite, with plenty of space. The bathroom is massive in this suite and features a large walk in shower and Jacuzzi bath tub separately. Twin sinks are also a feature. The rest of the suite has a large ‘living area’ with dining table and large Veranda.
Tors Observation Library is a great place to sit and relax with a drink from the bar whilst looking out to sea, or following where the rest of the Silversea fleet are sailing to. The views from Tors Observation Library look out over the bow of the ship
The Balsorano Suite, also the owner's suite, is the most impressive suite on the ship. Larger than the Silver Suite, with more amenities including Spa style shower, vanity table, mini-library off the dining room. The Balsorano suite inter-connects with the Panorama Suite, making enough space to sleep 4.
The Grand Suite is another incredible cabin, featuring a dining table, ample seating space along with a pull-out couch. The Veranda on this suite stretches around to the front of the ship, providing a huge amount of outside space near the front of the ship. The rest of the suite is much like the other superior suites with a king bed, and large bathroom including rain shower and Jacuzzi bathtub.
The Royal Suite is almost identical to the Grand Suite Barr the large outside wrap around Veranda which is amazing!
The size of the rooms on the Silver Muse really do make it feel like a home away from home. The look of the rooms is incredible and it really is like a luxurious floating hotel. At times you forget that you are actually on a cruise, the design is such that you can move around with so much space that you could be on land! Some decks are for outdoor space which is nice and as you can imagine, the views would be quite something. Personally I would have no problem on a long cruise as I really feel that the facilities, entertainment and design of the ship excels on a level which would put my cruise worries to bed.
The attention to detail is also phemomenal. I was surprised at the high level of materials that are used throughout the ship. The marble compliments the rest of the decor very well and everything looks expensive. From the beds, towels, robes, door numbers, communal areas to the design and layout of the suites everything is top quality.
The Muse has 8 restaurants which are the Indochine, La Terrazza, The Grill, La Dame by Relais & Chateaux, Atlantide, Kaiseki, Spaccanapoli and Silver Note. All cater for many different varieties of cuisine from Japanese food to Italian, tapas and even burgers and a rotisserie. If you would like an awesome experience, you can even cook your food at your own table using the grill stones at The Grill. A very cool concept!
By far the coolest thing in the rooms is the HUD display on the mirrors. These display cool little widgets like the weather, temperature, ship activities and things like that. I have never before seen anything like it and it was nice to see such technology being used onboard as I think it added to the experience.
The Muse heads off on its next adventure at the end of September and currently has approximately 70 voyages planned from now until May 2019. Touring the world from Hong Kong to Tokyo, Anchorage to Vancouver, Bali to Singapore, Florida to San Juan, Dublin to Barcelona and many more all of varying lengths from 5 to 25 days at a time so there will be something for all.
